Find the slope of the line that goes through the points (2, 5), (6, 10). Check your answer by using y – y1 = m(x – x1) where m is your slope, and (x, y) and (x1, y1) are your two given points.
Write this equation in standard form, then write it in point-slope form: 2x = 3y + 9. Check your work by graphing all three equations on the same graph. (You should have one line showing after having graphed the three equations, since they are all the same line. (Note, you don’t need to do a solution check other than the graph.)
Find the equation of the line through (-5/3, -1) and (-1/3, -5). Write it in slope-intercept form. Check your results by substituting the two original points into your slope-intercept equation.
